Mascara

I absolutely love the Volume Effect Mascara by YSL. I know it's expensive but I think you should treat yourself to a few luxuries in your make-up bag! I am totally addicted to it and wouldn't be persuaded to use any other mascara. I especially love to use it for a night out. It makes my lashes look really long and thick. I also think it smells nice to!

Hear It Here First

If your usual mascara is coming to an end then you may want to wait that little bit longer before you hit the shops. LancĂ´me are launching vibrating mascara in November, said to make lashes look ‘extraordinarily extended, separated and multiplied’ maybe worth a try (or even trying to get a sample from your local department store)

Top Tips

• To help your nails grow long and strong rub a little almond oil over them and into the cuticles. It helps prevent breakages and stops them getting dry and brittle
• If you run out of your favourite blemish cream, try dabbing spots with toothpaste instead. Great for drying out spots, (the toothpaste must contain fluoride though)

Product of the week....

Fake Tan
One of my favourite beauty products is fake tan. The two products I love to use are Vichy, Capital Soleil and Clarins Self Tanning Cream, Three reasons why I love these products ...
1) The orange and red tones work with your skin tone leaving you with a gorgeous golden glow rather than an orange or yellow (obviously fake glow!)
2) They don’t rub off on your clothes
3) They fade naturally so you don’t get left with patchy skin
Now the winter months are coming though and the credit crunch is hitting, i’m going to switch my fake tan to a tinted moisturiser. Saving on the pennies, Johnsons Holiday Skin is great. Skin gets dull and dry in winter weather so use after a bath or shower to keep moisturised and avoid the pasty look at the same time.

Hair How To’s

How to create the perfect pleat....

1) A great way of creating texture for and up do is to spritz some dry shampoo through the roots. If you have fine hair you may wish to back comb it first to create extra oomph. Back comb your hair section by section. Start at the roots using a tail comb, comb hair in the opposite direction to the way it grows. Mist with hair spray for extra hold.
2) Now you’re ready for the pleat. Gather your hair, as you would for a ponytail, twist the ponytail once and hold in an upward direction.
3) Continue twisting the hair until only the ends are free, place a clip on the loose hair to hold in place whilst you pin the pleat with Kirby grips. Voila, the perfect pleat ps,don’t forget to spritz with hair spray to keep wisps of hair at bay, (you can now get gorgeous hair sprays with shine in them for extra glamour).
